Seasons of Change

The only thing that remains constant in life is change.

A very good friend who feared how distance and time may erode the bond that we have built once sought a confirmation from me in the truth of it, and that was all I had to reply. Well, at least in my then semi-depressed state of mind. And as usual, I had the eyes roll expression thrown at the cynic in me. Fast forward to today, the good friend is still a good friend and now takes on an additional role as a close confidant.

The thing about change which makes me cringe prima facie is the fear of uncharted territories and the crave for familiarity looking back in retrospect. I spoke at length about this with the good friend and my thoughts were - If only we could turn fear of the unknown into an excitement or anticipation of something greater/ hoping the best for someone, whilst bottling the familiarity as fond memories; then I think it would abate the dreadfulness of change a little better. Either way you lose a little less. Easier said than done.

The beginning of next week will witness the first wave of change. Dynamics will change inevitably as it always had been, but this One would be slightly more than usual. Anyway, just to dash someone's prophecy that this would be a single entry blog plus the fact that my two supposedly-illusive co-authors are not co-operating - I'm writing all this in hoping for the best in everyone in The Team (starting with two smurfs) regardless of whichever path we will be taking or the change we may individually have to brave through in the coming months. I think we will do just fine considering we have gone through a major change last year, and more so for the majority in The Team. It has been an awesome roller coaster ride worthy for my limited brain storage space.

Oh, NED won ! Yay ! Anyone in the mood for tulips and wooden clogs shopping next Spring?

The Debutant

It was another usual slow workday afternoon where after a heavy lunch and some R&R time, that the five of us sitting in the room started talking about blogs and the luxury or perks that one can obtain once the blog/ blogger made it big. Without saying, we were envious of the flexible 'working' hours and place, invitation to social events, and to top it all off - getting paid for it once the advertisers come knocking on your blog. Indulging ourselves in the conversation, we got too carried away and stepped into what I would like to call the 'Afternoon Day Dream' zone and started bragging about how we could also replicate the same success - more so if you're a hot chick with plenty of well photoshopped picture.

It was then too when I joined in the fun and proclaimed that I could also start a blog and make it popular if I had the right juicy and raunchy content ! :) Well, the four skeptics in the room shot me a 'i-don't-believe-in-you-all-talk-no-action' look and started saying how I was just all talk * roll eyes * The twins then asked me " So J, IF you do start a blog, what would you name your blog address .. i mean it's all about the title and address nowadays, ain't it ? " To be honest, I had no clue at all and I suspect neither of them actually had any idea as well. " Well ... I think I might call it ..... lovemewithoutmypantson ... just to attract the raunchy search hits ! ". The whole room burst into laughter and The Twins fueled by more excitement, challenged me to actually start a blog with that title.

Of course I'm not dumb - I doubt such a name would bring me anywhere in the blogsphere! In fact, I counter challenged The Twins and told them that such a blog would only come into existence if they were game enough to come up with an equally 'inappropriate' blog title - to which then, we can become associated blogs :) Two days on, and I was asked when the blog project would take off and was given the 'all-talk-no-action' remark again.

So, yes people - The Debutant of this blog is actually a per se response to the challenge; only this time it is getting a more age appropriate name and the content driven by The Team (ya'll know who you are). Why this name you may ask ? Well, all I can say is fabulousity runs in The Team wherever we are and I use the word loosely ... Hahaha. So, the more pressing question now that I have made my move and proved my critics wrong is - will the The Team follow suit ?
